One of my favorite blogs for thoughtful kitchen design is Jewett Farms.   I first discovered this New England firm 3 years ago while researching soap stone for my own kitchen renovation.  While they now provide gorgeous countertop options and custom cabinetry from their new space in the Boston Design Center, I most look forward to periodic updates from their design team.   One of their most recent blog posts echoes what one of my sellers did in her own kitchen.   Here you see this glossy, richly stained custom built center island adds great utility and a warm counterpoint to the white quartz countertops.  Even better – my sellers’ local craftsman – created it from salvage wood creating a one of a kind kitchen centerpiece.   Just a small example of luxury sustainable design!  For more information on this home visit the website at: Home for Sale: 15 Squire Road, Winchester, MA
